Color Frenzy Neck Scarf
Quick Details
Fiber: 34% Viscose, 32% Cotton, 34% Polyester
Dimensions: ~58" × 3" (147 cm × 7.6 cm)
Care: Hand wash cold; lay flat to dry. Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean.
Needles: Size 10 bamboo
Time to Make: ~5 hours
Origin Story: Created from a thrifted, tangled mess sorted and revived by hand.
Description
This scarf began as a chaotic knot of donated yarn rescued from The Exchange for $3 — a half-skein, half-bird’s-nest situation begging to be untangled and given a second life. Once sorted, the yarn revealed itself as a vibrant Berger du Nord blend with enough color energy to power an entire holiday season.
Color Frenzy was knit over Thanksgiving 2024, keeping me company through at least one Scrabble game and a ferry ride across the Salish Sea, set to a soundtrack of family chatter and pop-culture snippets. Worked on size 10 bamboo needles, the scarf came together in maybe around five hours — one lively row at a time.
Soft, flexible, and bursting with personality, this scarf adds a joyful splash of color without bulk. It’s cozy enough for winter, fun enough for spring, and bold enough to brighten even the dreariest Pacific Northwest day.
